TBM Council Women’s Leadership Series 2016

The TBM Council Women’s Leadership Series is a special session at the TBM Conference designed to elevate the importance of women in IT leadership as a critical component of an organization’s success. Developed to provide a platform where female business-technology leaders can share the key factors which have been critical to their success. Presentations will focus on the lessons these business women have learned along their journey, and provide an opportunity for all attendees – male and female leaders alike, to engage in discussions which continue to elevate the importance of diverse business technology teams.

We are thrilled to welcome Patty Hatter, Vice President, General Manager, Intel Security Professional Services. A 30 year veteran of business-technology leadership, Patty brings to the TBM Council’s Women’s Leadership Series a rich and diverse background of experiences which have shaped her path as a technology professional. Patty’s journey began in college where she earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Melon. Over the years, Patty’s technology leadership approach was enhanced, molded and developed as she has driven organizational success at AT&T, Cisco, McAfee (where she served as CIO), and now Intel. In this session Patty will share why forming a team is based on the strength of developing relationships, the ability to be patient, and the power of having a strong and fearless viewpoint.

Following Patty’s session, we will engage in a panel discussion which includes Kim Manigault, EVP – CFO, Technology & Operations for KeyBank and Julie Flaschenriem, VP of Applications, Fairview Health Services, moderated by Irina Starikova, Partner, Digital McKinsey. Hear candid experiences they have faced along their professional journey, including insights and perspectives on how we can all build a stronger path forward and collectively continue to cultivate this important conversation across our organizations.

Finally we will close the TBM Council Women’s Leadership Series with an example of an organization that is striving to level the imbalance of women’s leadership in business today. Emily Rittenhouse, Director of TBM at AOL, along with CIO James LaPlaine will share how AOL chooses to do their part in ensuring leadership in their organization has no limitations, and that it is a conversation all are committed to having to uplift the solution together.

Acceleration, Innovation & Governance: Powering a Business Transformation

In an industry that’s all about managing risk, instilling a fast-paced, risk-taking culture is challenging. Yet, when your company is committed to improving pricing and risk selection through “enhanced data, analytics, and evidence-based decision making” — all while investing heavily in core platforms such as global claims and underwriting – the technology division must find a way to be agile, innovative, reliable and secure at the same time. In this thought-provoking session, AIG Chief Technology Officer Mike Brady will share how his division is employing a Silicon Valley mindset along with TBM to accelerate cloud adoption, DevOps and a technology-as-a-service model. In doing so, Brady is helping to enable AIG’s critical business transformation.
